The Brain

What is the Whole-Brain State?

Comes from the study of Brain Dominance Theory which originated in the late 1950’s it is also known as “Split Brain Research” the science states the Cerebral Cortex “the outer visible layer of the brain” has a left and right hemisphere. Both hemispheres have different roles as shown below in the list below. So, when in a Whole-Brain State you have all aspects of the mind working in sync allowing a high-speed mindset change.

LEFT HEMISPHERE

  • Uses logic/reason

  • Thinks in words

  • Deals in parts/specifics

  • Will analyse/break apart

  • Thinks sequentially

  • Identifies with the individual

  • Is ordered/controlled

RIGHT HEMISPHERE

  • Uses emotions/intuition

  • Thinks in pictures

  • Deals in wholes/relationship

  • Will synthesise/put together

  • Think simultaneously

  • Identifies with the group

  • Is spontaneous/free

What is the difference between the Conscious and Subconscious?

The conscious mind is that which is in the awareness of the individual’s environment being picked up by the senses. Whereas the subconscious exists below that interpreting our perception of what is experienced via the senses. A simple analogy might say the conscious mind is what you see on a computer screen and hear from the speakers. The subconscious mind is like software applications like “Word, Chrome Browser, or Spotify”. Making the operating system and hardware the physical body and brain. Our brains' software is interchangeable just like a computer. So when we upgrade our software we experience or perceive life in a different way.

Why is the subconscious important to change?

Our perceptions of situations originate from our life’s experiences. These are all stored in the subconscious along with our habits and beliefs. In 2003 in a study cited in the Harvard Professor Emeritus Gerald Zaltman’s book “How Customers Think” proved important information about the subconscious. Neuroscience reveals that 95% of a human's thoughts and decisions come from the subconscious. So, changing your subconscious is the quickest most effective tool we have for change. Affirmations and positive thinking only work at the conscious level which controls 5% of your daily life.

What is a belief?

The role of beliefs in our lives determine how we perceive the world. Imagine in the same way different filters on your smartphone can change the way a photo looks. Beliefs work the same way. Our beliefs define if we are worthy or worthless, powerful or powerless, competent or incompetent, trusting or suspicious, belonging or outcast, self-reliant or dependent, flexible or judgemental, fairly treated or hated. Our mood, our relationships, job performance, self-esteem, physical health, even religious or spiritual outlook are all determined by what we believe.

What is the difference between Hypnotherapy and PSYCH-K®

Hypnotherapy generally involves a lot of talking whereas PSYCH-K® is really about getting straight to the change process. Hypnotherapy is a “Do to Process” vs a “Do with process”. Hypnosis may require a trance-like state whereas PSYCH-K® requires a conscious state. Hypnosis usually has no permissions protocols and is Assumptive vs PSYCH-K® which has permissions for safety and appropriateness. Many Hypnotherapists are moving to PSYCH-K® or have added it to their service.

Why is PSYCH-K® different from the other self help work I have done?

Modern day personal development is a massive growing industry. Traditional methods of change can include hiring coaches, courses, saying affirmations, talk therapy, positive thinking practices, developing will power, reading self-help books, vision boards, writing in journals and visualising which are all helpful methods of change. But everyone is different and responds differently. PSYCH-K® gets straight to the root cause and can have immediate effects on the individual. If we were able to think something and make it happen without interference we would be the perfect human. Most if not all of us have to overcome our subconscious. PSYCH-K® speaks and works with the subconscious.
